Silver Medallion

Silver Medallion is a captain in the Cloud Empire army. She is a highly respected warrior and public figure in the Empire, and has been offered the rank of admiral, but refused it in favor of staying in the fray. She's currently on patrol with Lieutenant Dovesong, though their relationship is a bit more complex than just that.

Appearance

Silver Medallion is a tall pegasus with a thin, muscular build. She has long, sharp wings built for long-distance flight and speed, a textbook soarer type. Her coat is purple, with light purple markings: a diamond on her forehead, eyeliner shapes around her eyes, her wings, countershading from her chin to her belly, and short socks. The light sock on her back right leg is taller than the rest. Her legs are also slightly gradient. There is a nick in her ear, and she has scars on the brudge of her nose and her left shoulder. She has feathery fluff on her chest, cheeks, hindquarters, and long feathers on her fetlocks. Her hooves are dark purple.

Her mane is silver, and very short. It flops over as bangs in the front, with a thin mullet-y bit in the back. Her tail is very short and thin.

Her Cutiemark is a silver medallion with a dark blue/purple ribbon.

Her ankle heart is red, the same color as the ribbon on Dovesong's Cutiemark.

Personality

Silver Medallion is a gruff, no-nonsense mare. She's been in too many battles to be afraid of anything besides the concept of imminent total war. She has a lot of pride and it shows in the way she holds herself. She can't stand kids, and young recruits are even worse. Her fame has never gone to her head, and she doesn't misuse her influence. Her motto is, "If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself."

At the same time, she loves to unwind after a long day with a cider and a tavern full of amiable strangers. She has been known to lead impromptu concerts when she's had too much to drink. She's a surprisingly good harp player (she has a lightweight model made by dear friend Grace Note at home, and some of the Earth pony taverns she frequents on her patrol keep one stored for her).

She absolutely hates to be called Silver or Silver Medal; those are names for 'losers'. Only Dovesong is allowed the luxury of calling her Sil, or any other nicknames for that matter.

Biography

Early Years

Silver Medallion comes from a long line of warrior pegasi. Her battle prowess isn't hereditary though; its all hard work and discipline. She scored a key victory in her very first real battle, and that set her on a path of fame for the rest of her life. There's a statue of her in the Academy, The Emperor considers her a friend. That's how big a deal she is.

Notable relationships

• Silver Medallion: Despite their small age gap and different rank, they're a perfect team. Silver Medallion admires her work ethic and skills as a strategist, not many ponies work as hard as she does. After the war, she wants to retire together, somewhere pretty.
