Silver Medallion

Silver Medallion is a captain in the Cloud Empire army. She is a highly respected warrior and public figure in the Empire. She's currently on patrol with Lieutenant Dovesong, though their relationship is a bit more complex than just that.

Appearance

Silver Medallion is a tall pegasus with a thin, muscular build. She has long, sharp wings built for long-distance flight and speed, a textbook soarer type. Her coat is purple, with light purple markings: a diamond on her forehead, eyeliner shapes around her eyes, her wings, countershading from her chin to her belly, and short socks. The light sock on her back right leg is taller than the rest. Her legs are also slightly gradient. There is a nick in her ear, and she has scars on the brudge of her nose and her left shoulder. She has feathery fluff on her chest, cheeks, hindquarters, and long feathers on her fetlocks. Her hooves are dark purple.

Her mane is silver, and very short. It flops over as bangs in the front, with a thin mullet-y bit in the back. Her tail is very short and thin.

Her Cutiemark is a silver medallion with a dark blue/purple ribbon.

Her ankle heart is red, the same color as the ribbon on Dovesong's Cutiemark.

Personality

Silver Medallion is the hero of the Cloud Empire, and far too aware of that fact. Her celebrity status will sometimes go to her head, and she can get carried away with the attention (especially when it's coming from cute mares).

She is brave to the point of recklessness, impulsive, and can be quick to anger. More than anything she's proud, and it shows in the way she carries herself. Her motto is, "If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself." On the battlefield, she's more likely to rush into the fray than to wait around strategizing; it's worked out for her so far, and she sees no reason to restrain herself when it's life or death.

After meeting Dovesong, her opinion on strategists changed, and she began to stop and think once in a while before charging in.

Off the battlefield, she's very personable and friendly. She loves to unwind after a long day with a cider and a tavern full of amiable strangers. She has been known to lead impromptu concerts when she's had too much to drink. She's a surprisingly good harp player (she has a lightweight model made by dear friend Grace Note at home, and some of the Earth pony taverns she frequents on her patrol keep one stored for her).

She absolutely hates to be called Silver or Silver Medal; those are names for 'losers'. Only Dovesong is allowed the luxury of calling her Sil, or any other nicknames for that matter.

Biography

Early Years

Silver Medallion comes from a family of legendary pegasi warriors. Her father was a storied general himself, and her mother was a relatively famous Songbird performer. She has two older sisters, Platinum Petal and Gold Medal, and a younger brother, Copper Commendation.

Unfortunately for her, military discipline and strategic prowess isn't hereditary. She has spent her whole life working as hard as possible, pushing herself to the limit in order to live up to her family's legacy. Gold Medal was her greatest rival, but she was killed in battle several years before Silver Medallion ever saw combat. Her father still considers Gold Medal to be a greater warrior than Silver Medallion.

After an early victory against Unicornia, in which she took out a key general of incredible magical skill, she was given a promotion and hailed as a great hero. This has made her something of a celebrity in the Cloud Empire. There's a statue of her in the Academy, The Emperor considers her a friend. That's how big a deal she is.

On Patrol

An incorrigible workaholic, Silver Medallion chose to spend this recent lull in active hostilities on patrol rather than on vacation. She was assigned the new recruit Dovesong, and while she was initially upset about babysitting a songbird recruit, they have become very close. Dovesong even saved her life on a few occasions.

Notable relationships

• Silver Medallion: Despite their small age gap and different rank, they're a perfect team. Silver Medallion admires her work ethic and skills as a strategist, not many ponies work as hard as she does. After the war, she wants to retire together, somewhere pretty.
