Dovesong

Dovesong is a lieutenant in the Cloud Empire army. She serves under Captain Silver Medallion guarding the Earth pony border, though in practice their relationship is more like a partnership.

Appearance

Dovesong is a chubby brown Pegasus with light-colored socks and blaze on her nose. Her back, wings, and the backs of her ears are dark brown. She has a slight lighter brown gradient on her muzzle. Her hooves are very dark brown. The tips of her ears have little tufts, and her chest and cheeks are fluffy. She has a thick, jagged scar on her throat. She is a songbird pegasus, so her wings are short and fluffy.

Her mane is teal and kept braided, with choppy bangs. Her tail is similarly choppy, and bound at the base. A few stray teal hairs grow on the sides of her face like sideburns.

She sometimes wears a monocle when she's reading. Normally she looks anxious, but over time she gets more confident. Her eyes are dark brown and often look sleepy.

Her Cutiemark is a dark blue chess knight with a red ribbon behind it.

Her ankle heart is dark blue, the same color as the ribbon on Silver Medallion's Cutiemark.

Personality

Dovesong is earnest to a fault, and tries very hard to do her best at everything she attempts. She tends to ramble about military history (and history in general) if given the chance. In situations with other military ponies, especially those with more experience than her, she'll get terribly nervous and quiet. She lacks confidence, and feels slightly bullied as a songbird among soarers.

However, Silver Medallion sees potential in her and treats her like any other pegasus, and that eventually gives her confidence. Silver Medallion is highly respected herself, so by showing faith in Dovesong she gets other ponies to respect her more.

Biography

Early Years

Dovesong comes from a family of famous Songbird performers, and was expected to join that legacy. However, though she's a great singer and decently pretty by pegasus standards, she had always been more interested in the exciting life of a soldier. As a filly, she saw the young Silver Medallion in a parade, flying with the heroes from the recent battle. It was love admiration at first sight. She abandoned her songbird lessons and enrolled in the Cloud Empire Military Academy as soon as she could, essentially disowning herself from her family.

The War

Dovesong will, eventually, be the one to end the war. (I haven't fully figured it out yet, but it has to be her.)

Notable relationships

• Silver Medallion: Despite their small age gap and different rank, they're a perfect team. After the war, Dovesong wants to travel all around the continent with her. Maybe settle down in Dapple Beach...
