Granite "Georgie" Gorge

Granite Gorge (often shortened to 'Georgie') is the leader of Vice, a northern Earth city. He is the patriarch of the Pie family and the current leader of the Pie Mining company, which has dominated Vice for generations. Highly respected and relatively feared, he represents Vice on the Earth council.

Appearance

Georgie is a tall, heavyset Earth pony with a dark grey-black coat. He has a lighter grey blaze marking, fluffy chest, and gradients on his legs. His fetlocks are mostly trimmed, with some feathers in the front. His hooves are black. There are numerous scars on his body from dangerous mine work (or other less savory origins), including: a scar over his left eye, two on his front right ankle, two on his back left ankle, and an X on his left shoulder.

His mane is short and slicked back, with a stray hair sticking out in the front. His tail is also very short. Both are black, with a few greying hairs. He has facial hair along his jaw and a few hairs on his chin. His eyebrows are thick, and the left one is split by his scar.

Georgie's general demeanor is friendly, but slick and sleazy, and it shows on his face. His eyes are greenish blue and heavily lidded. He's usually smiling. He wears a gold medallion necklace.

His Cutiemark is two mountains with a red spiky explosion between them.

His ankle heart is grey.

Personality

He's very charming and polite to most ponies unless they do something to deserve his ire. Which could be anything, really-- bumping into him on the street, staring too long, being too friendly or not friendly enough. He's got a hair-trigger temper and everyone in Vice knows to steer clear when he's in a mood.

The only pony exempt from his anger is Pudding Pie, his daughter. She's the only thing in the world that he cares about more than himself and the family business. Since her mother died, he's really stepped up as a father and spoils her rotten.

Biography

The Pie family has led Vice for longer than anyone can remember, all of them miners and businessponies. Most businesses and property in Vice are funded by or belong to the family. Georgie was raised from a young age to understand the ins and outs of the business at every angle, meaning he's a jack of all trades. He spent a lot of time in the mines as a young adult, given his natural talent for locating valuable pockets of gold, gems, and coal. He switched to a more hands-off approach after the birth of his daughter.

On the council, he often fights with the leaders of the agricultural towns about favoring farm concerns over mining concerns. In his view, mining has more to do with 'earth' than farming. He's spent more time alone with the very soil and stone than anyone else. Since Vice is the only mining-majority town, he's outnumbered on most matters. However, seeing how important stone exports to Unicornia are, he holds a certain amount of power.

Notable relationships

• Pudding Pie: His precious daughter. He works hard so she can have all the nice things she deserves.
• Prairie Heart: They don't see eye to eye. Farm ponies and mine ponies don't get along.
