The Continent

This story is set on a shooting-star shaped continent in the middle of a seemingly endless sea. The continent has no agreed upon name (i.e. I never named it). It is shaped like a shooting star, pointing to the west.

The western end is taken up by a large, snowcapped mountain. This is Unicornia. Most of the mountain is covered with buildings and it is surrounded by a stone wall at its base. Past the wall is dense pine forest, which gradually thins out and transitions into deciduous forest as the elevation drops.

The middle of the continent is a collection of Earth pony villages. Much of their territory has been turned into farmland, especially in the center where the rivers meet. In the north, there are stone quarries. In the south, there is a long beach. A small star-shaped island, home to the permanent Zebra research settlement, is visible from the coast, and at low tide ponies can walk across a sandbar to reach it.

To the east, the farmland and trees give way to flat plains with small ponds scattered about. Beyond that, the land juts up towards the sky in towering rocky cliffs, piercing the clouds of the Cloud Empire. These crumble away as small islands into the distance.

A long dirt road called the Queensroad runs along the length of the continent, from the Unicornian castle through the Earth pony farmland and eventually fading away somewhere in the plains.

• This setting is completely divorced from Equestria. Whether or not another large continent exists is up for debate. All we know is that the Zebras came from somewhere...
